SHOULD THERE BE SOMETHING CALLED SUPREME LAW?

The constitution of most countries is regarded as the Supreme Law of that land, and in often times, very rigid in amendment. This is mainly because it is believed that the constitution is ultimately going to protect the interest of the people and avoid excessive use of powers by the government. I was thinking a lot yesterday and I asked myself, should there be something called as SUPREME LAW when it was written by men and can hence, be unwritten by them? If a writing which becomes a law further becomes supreme, aren't the writers more supreme and hence should live above it? These questions popped into me when I realised how much things had changed and is still in motion, how much each younger generation wants to do better than the former, how the human mind is getting more cruel, and yet weak, how the laws should change too, to meet these trends.
